GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE, MAY 30 – The US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has distributed over 2 million meals but faces criticism for politicizing aid and operating under Israeli military oversight, amid rising hunger risks.
- On May 29, 2025, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation began distributing aid at four Israeli-approved sites in southern Gaza after a nearly three-month blockade by Israel prevented aid entry.
- The GHF was created through private meetings of officials with Israeli ties and is backed by the U.S. and Israel, aiming to sidestep established UN mechanisms which the UN strongly rejected.
