- Kadim and Ganim were legalised; the International Court of Justice ruled in 2024 that settlement construction is unlawful under international law.
- The decision risks exacerbating tensions and threatens the possibility of a Palestinian state, with more than 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank killed and around 2,144 attacks in November.
- With around 700,000 authorised settlers in roughly 150 settlements and around 200 unauthorised outposts, Palestinian officials urged international action, calling it 'a dangerous escalation'.
