Two young Drômois climbers, from Bourg-de-Péage and Chatuzange-le-Goubet in the Nord-Drôme, lost their lives in a race in the Écrins massif on Tuesday, June 17th at night. Cordee companions, who were dismissed from the Alpine club in Romans, fell by almost 200 metres at the Dome de la Lauze in Isère.

The two 37- and 38-year-old mountain climbers made a fatal 200-metre fall, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré.
On Tuesday 17 June, two mountaineers died by falling 200 metres in the Écrins massif. A friend alerted the rescuers, worried that they would not return to the Selle refuge.
