The U.S. naval blockade disrupted one of Iran’s main trade routes, but the attempt to move goods over land is colliding with saturated borders, endless inspections and overflowing logistical costs. While thousands of trucks wait weeks and non-oil exports collapse, Tehran faces shortages of gasoline, 90% inflation and economic pressure threatening to paralyze trade.

With Hormuz closed from February 28, Tehran moves import and export on the Caspian and the terrestrial corridors to Russia and Central Asia. But the northern ports work at a third and the costs quadruple.
