- Despite the Israel Defense Forces' March strike on Iran's Cyber Warfare headquarters, the Iranian group continues to orchestrate "sustained, adaptive global cyber campaigns," showing no signs of slowing down, the researchers said.
- The hackers utilized AI-generated job listings for "Senior Programmer" roles and deployed AppDomainManager hijacking to disable security mechanisms, leaving targeted entities vulnerable to multi-functional RATs.
- Jeffrey Troy, CEO of the Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center, told CNN the activity was expected, as compromising aviation and energy firms allows Iran to track flight manifests or analyze U.S. oil market volatility.
- Unit 42 researchers do not believe the hackers successfully breached the identified aviation or oil companies, though they warned that stolen credentials likely enabled intrusions into other undisclosed global targets.
