Today, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne approved the competition program for the 2030 Winter Olympics in the French Alps, which excluded biathlon, which has been part of the Winter Olympics since the first games in Chamonix in 1924. This ends a 106-year era and removes one of the six sports that have accompanied the Winter Olympics since its inception.
