US Stocks Are Mixed After Oil Prices Ease and Bond Yields Rise

- Higher borrowing costs pressured artificial-intelligence stocks that had soared in earlier years. Nvidia reversed early gains and dipped 0.1% as investors adjusted to the changing rate environment.
- Akamai Technologies rose 7% after announcing an $11.6 billion, multiyear agreement with Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI chatbot. Costco Wholesale added 2.4% on stronger earnings.
- The international standard for Brent crude eased 0.6% to $99.60 per barrel. Abroad, Japan's Nikkei 225 climbed 1.3%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped 1%.
