- Eight addresses were searched, though no arrests occurred. Two cardiologists currently work at the OLVG hospital in Amsterdam, while the other four were until recently employed at the CWZ hospital in Nijmegen.
- Neither the OLVG nor the CWZ responded to requests for comment on Friday. The FIOD stated that tips from within the medical sector and media reports prompted the investigation.
- This corruption probe follows a 2022 case where the FIOD raided five cardiologists at the Isala hospital in Zwolle suspected of taking €3.2 million from a German pacemaker maker.
