International and national organizations show rejection of Congressional law affecting press freedom

The absolute majority of the PPdeG in Parliament has been enough to pass the new law for the CRTVG. Opposition initiatives have not served the same thing as the seven years of protests by the professionals of the Corporation. Professional associations also look with concern to this new law, as there is fear that the new article will not respect the European Regulation on Freedom of the Media.

Bills 4431/2022 and 6718/2023 violate the principles of freedom of expression and information, the entities say.
