AFGHANISTAN, JUL 20 – Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to enhance cooperation on border security, counterterrorism, and drug trafficking amid a 60% rise in cross-border attacks over the past year, UN reports show.
- In Kabul, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Acting Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani at the Afghan Ministry of Interior, and they agreed to bolster cooperation to curb terrorism and manage their shared border.
- Their talks also covered strategies for managing repatriation of Afghan nationals illegally residing in Pakistan, emphasizing efforts to promote regional stability.
- The meeting was attended by senior officials including Ibrahim Sardar, Mohammad Sadiq, and Khurram Agha at the Afghan Ministry of Interior, Naqvi was warmly received by Sirajuddin Haqqani.
