Since December 2025, inmates at the high-security prison Hall in Södertälje have been allowed to play video games during paid employment time. The prison service describes the initiative as a way to practice social skills. “Games are an important tool in training around socialization and impulse control,” says Cecilia Brauer, prison inspector.
