In April of this year, a team of astronomers led by Nikku Madhusudhan announced the possible detection of life in exoplanet K2-18b, more than 120 light years from Earth. In the atmosphere of that world covered by a large ocean there was a faint signal of dimethyl sulfide. On our planet, that compound only produces living organisms, especially marine microbes.
