March 29, 2025 March 29, 2025 Curtis Brandell has witnessed the horrors of Canada’s tainted blood scandal, the country’s worst public health disaster, firsthand.  Two of his uncles suffered from hemophilia, a genetic disorder in which the blood doesn’t clot normally, and were infected with both HIV and hepatitis C from contaminated blood during the height of the crisis in the 1980s.
