- On Friday, the crash happened during the final day of the Dubai Air Show at Al Maktoum Airbase, a Nov 17–21 event expected to draw about 150,000 people and over 1,500 exhibitors.
- Eyewitness videos and photos showed the jet explode and engulfed in flames with thick black smoke rising over Al Maktoum International Airport while witnesses reported the aircraft rapidly descending before crashing.
- The Dubai Media Office said firefighting and emergency teams responded rapidly and are managing the crash site, while the Indian Air Force constituted a court of inquiry and air demonstrations resumed within hours.
- This was the second known crash of the Tejas, the first occurring during an exercise in India in 2024, with deliveries delayed by engine shortages, and India plans almost 220 fighters.
