Dinusha’s Maiden Hundred Rescues Sri Lanka but India on Top in First Test
On Monday, India finished the third day of the first Test in Galle with a 178-run lead after bowling out Sri Lanka for 284 in response to their first-innings total of 462.
Manav Suthar claimed 4/76 and Ravindra Jadeja took 3/57 as India's spin attack dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup struggling on the turning Galle pitch.
Sonal Dinusha scored his maiden Test century, making 100 off 168 balls, and shared a 146-run sixth-wicket partnership with Niroshan Dickwella, who contributed 80 to rescue the hosts from 99 for five.
Ravindra Jadeja claimed his 350th Test wicket by dismissing Keshara Nuwantha, becoming the ninth spinner overall to reach the milestone, though poor light forced play to conclude 13 overs early.
India will resume on Tuesday with a 178-run lead, targeting at least 200 additional runs to set a 350+ total for Sri Lanka to chase on the final day.
