In photos: Remembering those lost in Southend Airport's first fatal plane crash

Christopher Mundy, 49, and Jack Pilgrim, 48, were killed instantly. The 80-seater Viscount plane, belonging to Channel Airways, came down a few seconds after take off. It crashed into a steel hut on the airport compound where three men were working. The plane was on a test flight in order to gain an air-worthiness certificate.
