Several men were tried following the shipwreck of a migrant boat in December 2022, which had caused four deaths and four missing. The reaction of the rescue workers, both in France and in the United Kingdom, had been controversial.
Since 16 June, the Lille court has been examining the methods of a network accused of having arranged for the crossing of candidates for exile to Great Britain, which had been dismantled following a fatal shipwreck in December 2022. Nine men have been tried for "involuntary manslaughter".
