In Joane, tradition remains what it was

On Holy Thursday of Easter, the past is revived with the holding of the Donut and Lupin Fair. At Largo 3 de Julho, a Rusga de Joane stall is set up to sell traditional Easter donuts and lupin beans. This is a tradition unique to the village of Joane, dating back to the 19th century and aimed at bringing the community together around stalls selling these local products.
