Improved community rating score earns Hattiesburg lower flood insurance rates
The city of Hattiesburg improved its score with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Community Rating System, improving from a class 8 to a class 7. As a result, property owners with flood insurance policies through the National Flood Insurance Program will see a 15% discount on their premiums beginning April 1, 2026.
