The 8th National Color Guard and Marching Percussion Championships (sponsored by the Japan Marching Band Association) was held on the 26th at Takasaki Arena in Gunma Prefecture. Yaeyama High School won the gold medal in the high school color guard division for the third consecutive year. The six members performed using rifles and flags as props.
