- A man photographed with Gov. J.B. Pritzker during an anti-violence event was arrested and charged with murder in the Sept. 11 Louis Vuitton smash-and-grab, earlier this month.
- The photo was taken six days earlier during a week-long initiative where Pritzker met community violence interventionists; the Peacekeepers Program involves more than 1,300 men and women and received over $375 million in state funding.
- Prosecutors described the Louis Vuitton theft as a coordinated smash-and-grab involving at least a dozen people in six stolen vehicles, stealing nearly $700,000, and a getaway car killed Mark Arceta, 40, of Skokie.
- Pritzker's office removed the photo and was 'extremely troubled,' expecting accountability, while President Donald Trump earlier this week urged 'Please come in' and threatened National Guard deployment.
- On Wednesday, DHS announced the arrest of Aldo Salazar-Bahena and said ICE detained noncitizen migrants during Operation Midway Blitz on violent-crime charges.
