A 73-year-old man from Prophetstown, Illinois, has been sentenced to five years in prison for attempting to burn down a future reproductive health clinic in Danville. He also has to pay $327,547 in restitution.
Philip J. Buyno pleaded guilty to using his car to breach the building and bringing gasoline to burn it down.
Buyno was found stuck inside the car by Danville police officers, who also discovered bottles of gasoline, a hatchet, road flares, old tires, and matches in his vehicle.
