The accession of Romania to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will be another milestone for modernising our country and for strengthening its status in the context of the consolidation of democracy, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said last month.
The statement was made by Nicușor Dan after Monday's meeting, at Cotroceni Palace, with the Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – OECD, Mathias Cormann. “More than half of the technical assessments have already been successfully completed. If we maintain this pace, Romania will join the OECD next year,” said President Nicușor Dan, quoted in a statement.
Minister of Investment Dragos Pislaru stated in the context of the meeting of the National Committee for the Accession of Romania to the OECD, held with the participation of the Secretary-General of this forum, Mathias Cormann, that from the perspective of investments, Romania can become a net contributor to the OECD.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announces that Romania has completed nearly two thirds of the total 25 evaluations in OECD committees. The government wants Romania to arrive next year.
If this rate is to be maintained, our country will join the organization next year, preciseed the head of state after meeting with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann.
