IGP Disu Appoints CSP Anietie Iniedu as New Force PRO
Iniedu, formerly head of the Complaint Response Unit, will lead police communications as the force says his experience will improve public engagement and reforms.
- On Friday, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu appointed Chief Superintendent of Police Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer, replacing Deputy Commissioner of Police Anthony Okon Placid after three months.
- Before this appointment, Iniedu headed the Complaint Response Unit at Force Headquarters in Abuja, while police sources reported that Placid has been redeployed to head the Lagos Command's Finance and Administration unit.
- Iniedu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo and previously served as Area Crime Officer in Abia State and Second-in-Command of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron in Kubwa.
- Members of the public and media stakeholders can reach the new Force Public Relations Officer on 08128526154, while Chief Superintendent of Police Aliyu Giwa supervises the Force New Media unit.
- Placid was appointed three months ago following the death of former Force Public Relations Officer Khan Salihu, though the police have not officially detailed the circumstances surrounding the latest reshuffle.
