Explosion in the Knesset: The Chief Military Defender Declares War on the State Comptroller

The Chief Military Advocate, Col. Ofira Elkabetz, called for the current audit being conducted by the State Comptroller on the October 7 events to be stopped and for a state investigation committee to be established instead.

Col. Ofira Elkabetz said in a hearing at the State Audit Committee that the comptroller's examination is insufficient: "The issues at the core of the failures are command and operational, and not within the scope of the comptroller's authority." According to her, there is concern that the comptroller's work will harm a future investigative committee.
