IDF kicks out reservist pilots who signed letter threatening to shirk duty

Out of the 950 signatories to a letter condemning the government and the current military plan in the Gaza Strip, only about 10 percent are in active duty as reservists

The signatories to the letter emphasized that they are not calling for non-reporting and that they will continue to serve in the reserves. According to them, the fighting "endangers the lives of the hostages, soldiers and civilians, and it appears to be continuing also for political reasons."

According to Major General Tomer Bar, the letter "has no place in times of war," it weakens solidarity and harms cohesion within the force.

Graduates and reservists of Unit 8200 in the Intelligence Corps sent a letter, following a series of similar letters sent in recent days, to the heads of state and the army, calling against the continuation of the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
