IDF Kills Senior Hezbollah Commander Ali Mussa Daqduq in Southern Lebanon Strike
Ambassador Yechiel Leiter announced the IDF eliminated senior Hezbollah commander Daqduq, a strike the military confirmed, removing a leader responsible for operations against Israel.
Daqduq joined Hezbollah in 1983, serving as bodyguard to Hassan Nasrallah, and later founded the unit Hezbollah refers to as the "Golan Terrorist Network" along the Israel-Lebanon border.
Iran sent Daqduq to Iraq to train terrorists, and he directed one attack against Western troops in 2006 and 2007 that killed five soldiers.
British SAS forces captured Daqduq in Basra, leading to five years in prison, but the Iraqi government later released him despite protests from Washington.
Leiter said Daqduq managed Hezbollah's "Golan Portfolio" plan to invade northern Israel; the IDF exposed this network responsible for military operations in Syria and along the border.
