Iconic Porto's Bakery & Cafe Confirms It Is Coming To The Inland Empire
On Tuesday, Porto's Bakery announced its first Inland Empire location in Ontario, situated at the intersection of Archibald Avenue and Inland Empire Boulevard near Ontario International Airport.
Founded in 1976 by Rosa Porto, the family-owned chain currently operates six Southern California locations, including Burbank and Buena Park. The expansion aims to serve Inland Empire residents who frequently travel to existing bakeries.
The Ontario project will feature about 50 square feet of commercial space spanning three buildings for restaurant, café, and retail purposes. A landscaped plaza and gathering spaces will connect the buildings.
"For our family, this is a meaningful moment," said Beatriz Porto, Owner and Vice President of Community Affairs at Porto's Bakery. Raul Porto, CEO and Owner, noted the site fits a city of over 180,000 people.
With construction expected to start next year, the bakery targets a 2028 opening. This expansion follows the chain's established success across Los Angeles and Orange counties.
