Hundreds of Thais trapped by clashes in northern Myanmar being evacuated
Over 200 Thai nationals trapped in the fighting between the junta soldiers and armed ethnic-minority groups in northern Myanmar are being evacuated to Thailand via China.
The group will receive clearance to enter China and will then fly from Kunming on two chartered flights to Bangkok, where they will be screened for human trafficking and criminal records.
Thai authorities suspect that some trapped individuals in Myanmar may be victims of human trafficking or involved in telecom fraud gangs.
