Human wounds heal "abnormally slower" than other mammals, new research shows

Summary by Vrt
The wound healing process in humans is slower than in monkeys or mice. This is evident from new Japanese research. Human wounds heal at only 0.25 millimeters per day, which is 3 times slower than the other mammals studied. "It is probably a negative consequence of another evolutionary advantage," says evolutionary biologist Dominique Adriaens.
