A drug meant for human in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments might have use on Canadian cattle farms. The drug cetrorelix has been extensively tested in beef. It’s been shown to improve ovulation synchronization with artificial insemination (AI) and results suggest it could be just as effective as the previously used drug, estradiol. It can also help tighten up the calving period with natural breeding.
