Foreign control in the Canadian economy is shrinking: StatCan - National

Enterprises in eight countries account for about 90 per cent of foreign-controlled assets in Canada, with a little more than half located in the United States.

A majority of the House of Representatives has approved a bill that makes it possible to control foreign donations to social organizations such as mosques and weekend schools. During debates, ChristenUnie, SGP and CDA expressed the fear that organizations that do nothing bad will suffer from this. After a few adjustments, the Christian parties nevertheless voted in favour.
