Hunt for Firework Thugs Who Attacked Firefighters as Flats Burned
A 14-year-old was arrested for arson after youths targeted firefighters with fireworks during a flat fire, with a police officer sustaining a minor injury, officials said.
- Merseyside Police arrested a 14-year-old boy at around 7.20pm on Wednesday on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after firefighters were attacked with fireworks in Huyton.

- Crews were alerted at 18.57 and on scene at 19.04 with five fire engines and an aerial appliance, while a female police officer and teenager were injured and fire engines' CCTV will aid police.
- Chief Inspector Kevin Chatterton warned that police and fire services are working with the community to identify those involved and emphasized that 'we will not tolerate this disgraceful behaviour.'
