‘Horrific’ conditions grip U.K. hospitals unprepared for heat
A Doctors’ Association U.K. survey found 83% of NHS staff called workplaces very hot or dangerously hot, with more than two-thirds citing patient-safety risks.
In hospitals built for a cooler climate, staff dealt with patients too sweaty to receive IV drips, medication at risk of degrading and colleagues collapsing on the job.
