Hormel Foods named Donald Monk as chief technology officer, effective March 23, creating a newly formed senior role overseeing enterprise technology, digital, and data strategy.
With over 35 years in the field, Monk previously spent 33 years at General Mills as chief information officer and most recently served as senior vice president at Cargill.
Company leaders noted Monk has led major enterprise transformations, built high-performing global teams and implemented modern platforms that strengthen performance and accelerate growth.
The hire positions Hormel Foods to modernize technology and data capabilities, supporting business growth across its global brands including SPAM and SKIPPY with over $12 billion in annual revenue.
With formal software engineering training, Monk holds degrees from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities and Minnesota State University, Mankato, and is recognized for leading enterprise transformations.
