Honda Kills Off the Prologue After Just Three Years, Leaving It Without a Single EV in the U.S.
On Thursday, Honda Motor Co. confirmed it will discontinue the Honda Prologue after the 2026 model year, leaving the automaker without a fully electric offering in the United States.
The automaker is shifting focus toward hybrids like the CR-V, Accord, and Civic, following a strategic pivot that included canceling planned 0-series electric models earlier this year.
Sales of the Prologue dropped 48% year-over-year in early 2026, as EV-related losses reached 1.45 trillion yen for the fiscal year ended March 2026.
Honda is offering closeout leases starting at $279 per month, while a company spokesperson confirmed current drivers will receive full support, including service and warranty coverage.
By March 2030, Honda plans to launch 15 new hybrid models; meanwhile, Lance Woelfer, head of Honda's U.S. sales operations, indicated the company may reintroduce EVs later.
