Two Massachusetts Men Found Dead, One with Pitchfork in Head; Suspect Arrested

Police charged Vitor Francisco Gomes with two counts of murder after finding both victims dead and a firearm with ammunition, prosecutors said.

Upon arrival, they discovered one victim with significant facial trauma to his face and another with a metal pitchfork lodged in the back of his head, Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn III said.
  • Massachusetts State Police troopers located suspect Vitor Francisco Gomes, 28, of Fall River about a block away from the crime scene, where he was found "covered in blood" and in possession of a bag containing a firearm and ammunition, prosecutors said.
  • Gomes was charged with two counts of murder, unlawful carrying of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Fall River District Court, prosecutors said.
