Harm Finishes Well to Earn Home Win at German Masters
Leonie Harm closed with back-to-back birdies to finish 10-under-par and beat Casandra Alexander by one stroke for her first Ladies European Tour title.
On Sunday, German golfer Leonie Harm birdied her final two holes at the Amundi German Masters to secure her maiden Ladies European Tour title on home soil.
Thirteen years after a drunk driver hit her at age 15, leaving her in a medically induced coma with doctors unsure if she would walk again, Harm achieved her breakthrough.
After setting a course record 65 on the North Course at Green Eagle Golf Courses, Harm battled a second-round 75 and even-par third round before firing a final-round 69 to win by one stroke.
Reflecting on her path, which included losing her mother to cancer and nearly quitting professional golf at the end of 2024, Harm spoke about showing "resilience" in tough times.
Harm noted the importance of having "a bunch of Germans in the mix," saying the tournament success is "amazing for women's golf overall and women's golf in Germany.
