Hochul announces extension of unlawful discrimination statute of limitations

All New Yorkers who experience unlawful discrimination will now have three years to file a complaint. The new statute of limitations was recently signed into law and takes effect on Feb. 15. For complaints filed with the Division of Human Rights alleging sexual harassment in the workplace that occurred after August 12, 2020, the statute of limitation remains three years.
