Hiker’s body recovered from mountain above Okanagan Falls

  • Penticton & District Search & Rescue conducted a recovery mission for a missing hiker near McIntyre Bluffs in Okanagan Falls after an initial search effort. The search included steep terrain, cliffs, and the Okanagan River. PENSAR expressed condolences to the family and friends of the hiker.
  • PENSAR deployed 13 SAR personnel, including a canine team from Central Okanagan Search & Rescue , and a helicopter from Topflight Helicopters for the search. PENSAR thanked COSAR and Topflight Helicopters for their support.
  • The RCMP and BC Coroners Service are continuing their investigation into the incident.
