THE statue of a Red Lion standing proudly on the portico outside the Iceland supermarket and B&M discount store in Wycombe High Street has been an iconic feature of the town centre for over 200 years. It was originally installed as a distinguishing feature above the entrance to the Red Lion Hotel, which occupied that site for several hundred years.
