Here's the Best Time to Spot November's Supermoon, the Brightest Moon of 2025
- On Wednesday, Nov. 5, the November full Beaver Moon will be a supermoon, reaching peak illumination at 8:19 a.m. EDT, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.
 - Because the Moon's orbit is slightly oval-shaped, it sometimes sits nearer at perigee, the Moon's closest point to Earth, and sometimes farther at apogee.
 - According to NASA, the supermoon can appear up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter, and the Old Farmer's Almanac says it will be 221,817 miles from Earth; Shannon Schmoll said, `The difference is most obvious as a comparison between other images or observations.`
 - Tides may be slightly higher during the supermoon, said Lawrence Wasserman, astronomer, Lowell Observatory, and skywatchers need no special equipment, only clear skies and a good horizon view.
 - Amid other celestial events, the Southern Taurids meteor shower peaks Nov. 4-5 and the Cold Moon on December 4 is the year's final supermoon, the American Meteor Society notes.
