Henry Nowak Killer 'Refuses' Move to Wing Where Ian Huntley Was Murdered
Digwa is held in segregation for up to 23 hours a day and has lost prison privileges while serving a life term for Henry Nowak’s murder.
Convicted murderer Vickrum Digwa is refusing to relocate from segregation to the A-wing at HMP Frankland after learning it was where child killer Ian Huntley was fatally assaulted earlier this year.
Digwa, serving a life sentence for the December 2025 murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, reportedly feels terrified about leaving the isolated unit due to the wing's violent reputation.
The 23-year-old is currently confined to his cell for 23 hours daily, venturing out only for brief daily exercise under the supervision of four prison officers.
Prison sources describe conditions in the segregation unit as "really grim," and Digwa could remain there for a "very long time" following his standoff with staff over safety concerns.
Often nicknamed "Monster Mansion," HMP Frankland has seen multiple high-profile violent incidents in recent years, including attacks involving Hashem Abedi and Damien Bendall, underscoring the facility's volatile environment.
