He began his acting career with a main role as Keith "Two-Bit" Matthews on the Fox drama television series The Outsiders (1990), and he made his film debut with a supporting role in Where the Day Takes You (1992).
British actor Martin Freeman, who will celebrate his fifty-fifth birthday on September 8, has entered the public consciousness with his role as Bilbo Baggins in the film transcriptions of Tolkien's The Hobbit. But he first drew attention to himself at the turn of the millennium in the series Kancl, and shortly afterwards he played a timid filmmaker in the romantic comedy Love of Heaven.
