The Public Prosecutor's Office has requested two years of suspended imprisonment against Hervé T., the teacher tried this Tuesday for manslaughter after the death of a college student in 2020 during an EPS course in Haute-Savoie.
Nearly five years after the death of their son Baptiste, who died at the age of 12 in a course of EPS despite a medical dispensation, Mélanie Jacques and Xavier Ledoux prepare to face the professor in question before the correctional court of Thonon-les-Bains. On the eve of the hearing, they tell of their pain, their guilt and the questions that remain unanswered, while hoping that this trial will draw lessons for the future.
On Tuesday 25 November, a professor from the College of Bons-en-Chablais appeared before the court of Thonon-les-Bains for manslaughter. In 2020, Baptiste, 12 years old and suffering from cardiac pathology, had died in one of his classes. The boy had a sports dispensation.
