The film will adapt Major Adam Jowett’s memoir about Easy Company’s 21-day siege in Afghanistan, with Matt Charman writing the screenplay.
- On Thursday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they are developing a feature film adaptation of the Afghan war memoir 'No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege' for Netflix.
- The memoir chronicles British Major Adam Jowett's command of Easy Company, a unit of paratroopers and Royal Irish Rangers tasked with holding the District Centre of Musa Qala in Afghanistan in July 2006.
- Oscar-Nominated screenwriter Matt Charman, known for 'Bridge of Spies', is adapting the script, with the couple and Archewell Productions scripted content head Tracy Ryerson producing the feature.
- The project holds personal significance for Harry, who completed two combat tours in Afghanistan as a member of the British Army before his discharge as a captain.
- Beyond this film, the couple is currently developing an adaptation of Jasmine Guillory's romance novel 'The Wedding Date' and Carley Fortune's 'Meet Me at the Lake' under their first-look pact.
