More than half (51%) of EU citizens did not use public transport in 2024, an increase of 68% among Portuguese, indicated Eurostat, the EU's statistical office. According to Eurostat, EU countries using less public transport in 2024 were Cyprus, where 85% of the population did not use them, followed by Italy and Portugal (both 68%), France (65%), Slovenia (62%) and Greece (61%).
