The Archangel Gabriel came to Mary, the woman of Nazareth, to announce to her that the promises of the prophets would be fulfilled in her, and that her Son, whom she would conceive miraculously and virginally through the power of the Holy Spirit, would be the Son of God Himself. We are thus experiencing the Mystery of the Incarnation of the Son of God.
