- Vijay's wife Ritu stated her husband had no personal enmity with anyone. She claimed, 'He was shot dead because of a dispute between others,' despite warnings to keep his distance.
- Heightened police scrutiny follows the killing of 55-year-old dairy businessman Ratan Lohia earlier this year in Aya Nagar. Police have not officially established a connection between Lohia's murder and Vijay's shooting.
