GUATEMALA CITY (AP) — Guatemala's Ministry of Culture and Sports announced Wednesday that it repatriated 61 pieces of Guatemalan cultural heritage that were in the possession of a private individual in Mexico.
The lot composed of 29 whole pieces and pre-Hispanic fragments was recovered from a private collection in the state of Guanajuato, in central Mexico, the Ministry of Culture said in a statement.
The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture and Sports reported on the repatriation of 61 Guatemalan cultural property that was in Guanajuato, Mexico. The pieces were voluntarily delivered by a Guatemalan citizen residing in that country.
